Couldn't load pickup availability
Students will take mass measurements in the lab and convert grams to moles. This is an introduction to stoichiometry lab. It has students convert from grams to moles, but not moles back to grams. (These questions are included in the post-lab questions only.) The students should have a background in chemical naming (but if not, you could easily help them out).
You will need:
- balance and weigh boats
- salt
- water
- chalk or crayons
- baking soda
- vinegar
- beaker
- flask
- calculator
What's included?
- Teacher set up guide
- Student lab activity
- Answer key
- Link to Google Sheets answer calculator for teacher use
- How to Write a Chemistry Lab Report document (differentiated)
If using as a stations lab:
1) Mass to moles for a sample of salt
2) Mass to moles for a "sip" of water
3) Mass to moles for the chalk or crayon used to write a name
