Chemistry Review Measurement and Tools Unit Trashketball Class Activity

This measurement and tools chemistry unit review activity has students work collaboratively in teams to answer chemistry review questions and then shoot basketballs in your classroom! You can use paper balls and a trash can, or use mini basketballs and a dedicated "trash can" that looks like a basketball hoop!

This test prep activity will have students testing knowledge of:

• lab equipment
• reading graduated cylinders
• lab safety
• experimental variables
• counting significant figures
• math with significant figures
• scientific notation
• volume displacement
• percent error

• Students create teams
• Pass out whiteboards or loose paper and markers
• Project question on the boards
• Teams decide on an answer
• Teams show answers
• Teams with correct answers get one point and have an opportunity to get another point by shooting a basketball from a set distance
• Team with the most points wins
